Arsenal vs Stoke City preview- December 18

Game :- Arsenal vs Stoke City

Venue :- Emirates Stadium, London

Saturday, December 18, 2010

KO time:- 15.00 UK

Arsenal can temporarily go back to the top of the Premier League if they claim all three points against Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium this weekend. Bet on Arsenal vs Stoke City with PaddyPower after reading our preview..

The Gunners lost 1-0 to Man United on Monday and surrendered their spot at the top of the Premier League. With United only playing on Sunday, Arsenal can reclaim top spot with a win over Stoke.

Arsenal failed to reproduce their usual fluid game against United and had few chances of note. Young Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny is again likely to stand under the sticks with Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski both out injured. Szczesny made his first Premier League start of the new season against United and put in a more than decent performance against the Red Devils.

Samir Nasri has been in tremendous form for Arsenal recently, especially at the Emirates. In his last six home games for Arsenal, he has netted a total of six times.

Arsenal form- last five games- most recent first- Arsenal scorers in brackets-

Man United 1-0 Arsenal
Arsenal 3-1 Partizan Belgrade ( Robin Van Persie, Theo Walcott, Samir Nasri)
Arsenal 2-1 Fulham ( Samir Nasri

Man Utd Vs Stoke Odds

Another Sunday afternoon, another Premier Game and this week it’s the turn of Manchester United and Stoke City to battle it out over the next few hours. Of course, over-shadowing the whole affair is the Wayne Rooney saga and after the week he’s just had it’ll be amazing if a) he plays and b) the fans don’t lynch him!

The bookies are fairly certain that he’ll get a run out and enough to make him 5/4 to get an anytime goal which could be on the money as he’s really got quite a bit to prove today. Maybe a winning goal may go some way to assuage the tension with his fellow team mates and the fans??

Utd are odds on favourites to walk away with the win today but Stoke may not be singing from the same hymn sheet, and are themselves, desperate for points. I think it’s going to be closer than the bookies are giving them credit for and with Kenwyne Jones a power house in waiting it really is anyone’s game especially if Manchester United are still recovering from the very shaky week they’ve just had!

In saying all of that however, Utd are now the only team still unbeaten in the Premier League so far this season and although it’ll be close, I don’t think Stoke have the edge over them…
