 By Tony O'Hehir 9:32AM 21 OCT 2010 FAME AND GLORY and Cape Blanco will miss the Breeders' Cup, although both will remain in training next year, trainer Aidan O'Brien has revealed.

On a day when stablemate Rip Van Winkle, also under consideration for a trip to Churchill Downs, was retired after suffering a setback, O'Brien announced four-time Group 1 winner Fame And Glory and dual top-flight scorer Cape Blanco will not head to the US - but will race on in 2011.

"Both horses had hard races and tough passages in the Arc, and it has been decided that neither of them will be going for the Breeders' Cup Turf," said O'Brien on Wednesday.

"But they'll be kept in training next year."

Outlining Ballydoyle's likely team for the Breeders' Cup next month, O'Brien said: "Beethoven is being aimed at the Mile and Bright Horizon will go for the Marathon. Together is under serious consideration for the Juvenile Fillies Turf, while Treasure Beach, who ran third in the Royal Lodge, may go for the Juvenile Turf.

"We will be declaring both Seville and Master Of Hounds in the morning for the Racing Post Trophy on Saturday and it is possible, depending on how they get on, that one of them might go for the Juvenile Turf."

RELATED LINKS BC Turf betting Free bets  The four-year-old was an unlucky-in-running fifth in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on his last start and O'Brien said on Friday: "It's quite possible that Fame And Glory won't be going to the Breeders' Cup. He had quite a hard race in the Arc and while we haven't made a final decision yet, he might be finished for the season.

"There is a chance that he will remain in training next year."

Fame And Glory, a four-time Group 1 winner, is 6-1 with Ladbrokes and as low as 3-1 with Boylesports for the race.

O'Brien, for whom Bright Horizon (Marathon) and Together (Juvenile Fillies' Turf) are likely Breeders' Cup travellers, has yet to finalise plans for the meeting.

He has Cape Blanco, the Irish Derby and Irish Champion Stakes winner, as a possible alternative to Fame And Glory for the Turf.

Breeders' Cup coverage exclusive to At The Races and SIS

Churchill Downs: is hosting both the 2010 and 2011 Breeders' Cup

shown on ATR and SIS By Howard Wright 5:13PM 10 SEP 2010 THE next two Breeders' Cup meetings, to be held at Churchill Downs, will be broadcast exclusively in the UK and Ireland on At The Races and in betting shops that take the SIS service.

 

The deal for the two-day meetings in November 2010 and 2011 has been signed with Breeders' Cup Limited, and will effectively blank out the self-styled world championships from Racing UK and TurfTV screens, which have shared coverage in the past.

 

ATR has also secured the internet streaming distribution rights for the UK and Irish markets, which will be made available for bookmakers' sites, and to archived Breeders' Cup races.

 

The contract is wrapped around betting rights, which will give ATRand SIS exclusivity to license betting operators to co-mingle bets into pari-mutuel pools at Churchill Downs via US provider TRNi.

 

ATR will be sending at least two UK presenters to the meeting, to complement the London-based studio presentation.
