Keep your Options open with Lorrys in the Jacket

Lorry Options the winner of the 2009 Golden Jacket can roll back the years to recapture the title in 2011.

Top-class greyhound action is back with a bang in mid February when Crayford’s major competition of the year the Golden Jacket gets underway. This 8-bend event always attracts a top-class entry and seems sure to do so again this year and the greyhound odds are always worth a look.

Crayford is a very unique circuit with its tight bends and short straights and it is certainly a venue where course specialists thrive. One such specialist is the Dean Childs trained Lorrys Options, although this class act can boast has achieved many notable victories at more galloping circuits too. The November 06 veteran showed his class by winning this event in 2009 and was strongly fancied to double up in 2010, however his campaign there was cut cruelly short as injury intervened, the dog suffered a rushed preparation and failed to complete the course in his heat.

It is a different story for this campaign though, the dog returned from a nice winter break to hack up at Monmore last week, beating a classy field in the process and with his liking for the C&D proven he looks well worth a bet.
As mentioned this is always a strong event runners like: Honey Trampass, Blue Bee and TV Trophy champion Midway Skipper are all offered maximum respect and would be worthy champions. However, the early and middle gears of Lorrys Options are what set him apart from the crowd and he can show that age is no barrier because class is permanent.
