Can Crosby bounce back to win the Hart trophy?

Posted on February 04th, 2011 in Sports Betting Blog

Sidney Crosby is a man who has rarely been out of the news in the NHL during a career that has seen the young Canadian leap to the top of the ice hockey world, scooping up both an Olympic gold and the accolade of being a runner up in the Stanley Cup. Also lifting the famous trophy as a captain, he hasn’t exactly been out of the limelight since he burst on to the scene.

However, with ‘Sid the Kid’ having missed this season’s all star game as well as the last few weeks of the regular season with a concussion, the frontrunner to be this season’s MVP has seen his chances of ending the season with yet another trophy for his personal performances diminished as the likes of Stamkos and Daniel Sedin have capitalised on his enforced absence.

With Pittsburgh having enjoyed a decent season, but one in which they have failed to outperform their Atlantic division rivals the Philadelphia Flyers, who are also topping the Eastern Conference, the pressure is on Crosby to come back and inspire the Penguins to end the season as both Conference and Divisional champions and the ice hockey betting suggests he has a tough task.

If Crosby comes back into the side and achieves this, he will once again have shown that he can rise to the challenges that he has been presented with during his career. If this is the case then there will be no doubt who will end the season in possession of the Hart trophy, and who perhaps once again will be lifting the Stanley Cup. That is, unless the likes of Stamkos and Sedin can raise their game to a level that so far has not been achieved.
