Albrighten shines despite Villa’s gloom

Gubbins’, Aston Villa have had a silver lining though, with emergence of exciting winger Marc Albrighten that has helped soccer betting odds for betting on the team. Gerrard aiming high despite chaos

Steven Gerrard has issued a rallying cry to his Liverpool colleagues by demanding they finish in the Premier League top four this season.

This looks a long way from happening however, as the Reds have suffered with their worst top-flight start to a season since 1953, taking only six points from their opening seven games and the football odds suggest they will struggle to push up the table.

Liverpool are currently sitting in the Premier League relegation places, which is not what was expected when Roy Hodgson was unveiled as the new manager at Anfield during the summer.

Gerrard has said it is “over the top” how people are reacting to the slump and pointing the finger at both Hodgson and Fernando Torres, who has looked disorientated so far this season.

The captain told LFC Weekly that everyone associated with Liverpool are “in this together” and must look to turn things around, starting with the Merseyside derby with Everton at Goodison Park this weekend, although the Premier League betting hints at a tight contest.
