Firth For Oscar

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards is just around the corner and when it comes to Best Actor there’s only one name on everybody’s lips for the Oscar – our very own Mr Colin Firth. So much so, that’s he’s the odds on favourite with the bookies at staggeringly short odds of 1/12.

His competition comes from James Franco (127 Hours), Jessie Eisenberg (The Social Network), Jeff Bridges (True Grit) and Javier Bardem (Biutiful). Nothing is written in the history books yet and the Oscars are known to throw up a few doozies from time to time – remember Avatar winning practically nothing last year???

I’m biased this year, having only had the opportunity to see The Kings Speech from the five films above and Colin Firth was outstanding, as was Helena Bonham Carter and Jeffery Rush so it’s thumbs up from us at the Gamehunter as we keep our fingers and toes crossed for all of them!!

The King’s Speech leads the nominations for this year’s Academy Awards with 12 nominations.
