England vs France friendly preview

England vs France

Wembley Stadium, London

International Friendly, November 17th 2010.

Both England and France will seek to end 2010 on a high when they meet in an international friendly at Wembley on Wednesday night. It has been a poor year for both sides with England humbled at the World Cup by a youthful German side and France failing to make it out of the group stages.

England coach Fabio Capello will be without stars like Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe, Darren Bent and Frank Lampard for this friendly. Young Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson is set to win his first cap for the nation along with Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere.

Should Newcastle striker Andy Carroll recover from his groin injury, he is almost certain to make his debut for the Three Lions too. Another surprise betting option will be Cardiff City’s Jay Bothroyd, who is the only non Premier League member in the squad.

Will Bothroyd become the first Championship player since David Nugent to play for England? Bet with PaddyPower on this.
