With bonafide musicians in the form of Sharleen Spiteri, Jamie Cullum and Dizzee Rascal acting as the judging panel and truly gifted singers, songwriters and musicians vying for a place in the grand final at Wembley Stadium, this weekly show has really hit the mark with the viewing public.
There are no contrived, over produced theatrics from the judges and the acts all start making money from their music straight away. Thankfully no one will have to sign their souls over to Mr Cowell for the rest of their natural born days.
And the format works. So far all of the acts have entered the Top 40 with their little heard songs and a few have even flown straight into the Top 10. Odds on the outright winner are available from paddy power Bookmaker and they’re pretty good!
