Leicester v QPR Preview

This game will see Paulo Sousa take on the club that gave him his first managerial job, although there certainly won’t be any love lost here. Sousa’s Leicester have had a troubled start to the campaign and sit in 20th position, while QPR are in some red hot form and sit top of the table after the opening six games.

The loss of Nigel Pearson during the summer was always going to hit Leicester, although supporters remained relatively positive when Paulo Sousa was brought in from Swansea. However, both managers play extremely different styles and with that, it was always going to take a long time for Sousa to make a good impact on the club. Still, Leicester fans probably thought they’d start better than this, seeing as last season they came ever so close to netting a playoff place. This campaign has been slow and five points from the opening six games will not be deemed acceptable by the Foxes’ faithful. In fact, it was only on Tuesday that the club managed to get their first win of the season after an unexpected 2-1 victory over Cardiff. Sousa will be hoping that result sparks a revival although it will probably take a long time before Leicester fans are convinced that Sousa is the man to fill the popular Pearson’s boots.

QPR on the other hand have been absolutely rampant. They are the only team in the division not to taste defeat and with that, the R’s are sat top of the table on sixteen points. Already their goal difference is frightening at
